RaurisRauris is a picturesque winter wonderland resort- ideal for beginners and families alike.
In the idyllic Hohe Tauern National Park the old gold mining town of Rauris has latterly been developed into a ski resort. Easy access and great facilities for beginners and children characterise Rauris. Guests won’t be walking for 25 minutes to the lifts in the morning and the resort is very child focused, with a kids ski train for the ski school and magic carpet lifts to ease children on to the slopes. While advanced skiers may feel a little limited there is plenty of opportunity for off piste fun and the snow record is excellent.
For après ski one can expect a calmer affair than the usual Austrian fare. There are a number of great restaurants (child friendly) that serve local dishes and more international cuisine. Activities off the slopes include indoor tennis, sleigh rides, bowling, tobogganing, curling and trips to the local Schnapps distillery.
