Ski Resort Information, Ski Holidays to Pila
PilaLocated between Mont Blanc and Monte Rosa the purpose built village of Pila offers ski- in, ski-out accommodation, great skiing and fantastic views.
Most of the skiing here is for the intermediate. The long reds go on forever through the trees and there is some easy off piste to negotiate as well- great for learning to turn in the deep powder. Beginners will find that there are some good wide blues to hone their skills on and also a long blue from the top of the mountain which is quite easy. There are also few crowds to cope with outside the main holiday weeks. Experts aren’t too well catered for here but there are some off-piste opportunities and the possibility of a day out in La Thuile, Zermatt and Cervinia.
Snowboarders will be happy to find a board park and plenty of terrain at the top of the mountain for freeriding.
For the après ski it’s best to stick to the hotels for the week but the town really kicks off over the weekend- when the Italians from nearby conurbations come skiing. Off the slopes during the day there is plenty of shopping, a gondola to the city of Arosa, ice skating and other amenities to keep the visitor occupied.
