Ski Resort Information, Ski Holidays to Jackson Hole
Jackson HoleJackson Hole is at the gateway to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, so as you could imagine the scenery and wildlife in the area are magnificent.
Jackson Hole has 2 villages, Teton which is at the base of the mountain and is fairly quiet, and Western village which is 20 minutes by shuttle bus from the mountain and a lot livelier. Western Village has a good choice of shops, bars and restaurants.
Rendezvous and Apres Vous are the two ski areas at Jackson Hole which between them offer 205 kilometres of piste. Rendezvous proudly boasts the longest continuous vertical rise of any ski area in the U.S, 4,139 feet from the valley floor to the top the mountain, with a 63-passenger aerial tram that transports skiers from bottom to top in 12 minutes.
Beginners will find Jackson Hole a very civilised place to learn to ski, the slopes are famously uncrowded and there are plenty of gentle runs on which to master the basics. The ski school is also highly recommended.
Intermediates are totally spoilt for choice and have miles of perfectly groomed runs to content themselves with, lift queues are virtually non-existent and the pistes rarely get busy.
Jackson Hole is an off-piste paradise for the advanced skier, the Cheyenne, Laramie and Tensleep Bowls provide some great powder and there are a vast number of black runs to master.
