The largest of the Jungfrau resorts, Grindelwald is dominated by the north face of the Eiger. It is a busy place with a mixture of hotels and wooden chalets. Being an all year round resort it has plenty of activities, including an excellent sports centre, which is free with a Visitor’s Card. It has a lived in feel and not everybody is skiing, in fact quite a lot of visitors are non skiers. The skiing, shared with Wengen, is fun and challenging for intermediates and advanced skiers can also sample exciting off piste adventures. Beginners have excellent facilities and the ski school is user friendly.
